APEDA (Agricultural &Processed food product Export Development Authority), which is a government organization established in the year 1985 through an act for the development and promotion of export of scheduled products. It provides information, financial assistance, guidelines for the development of scheduled products. The products which are specified under the APEDA act is called scheduled products and exporters of that scheduled products need to register under APEDA.
The motive of APEDA is to promote the export of scheduled products and to accomplish various functions that have been undertaken by the body as per the regulation of central government. Registration process:
To register under the APEDA, the applicant needs to submit the application form within the period of 1 month from the date of commencing the business. If the exporter of scheduled products fails to register within the constraint time due to some cause, then the date only will be extended by the authority.
Once the application got filed and paid by the applicant, the authority will issue the RCMC (Registration-cum-membership-certificate). It is a one-time registration and all the registered members are governed by the rules and regulations under the APEDA act.
